 Arborist

If you want to become a tree surgeon or arborist in Kent, you can work for city or municipal governments. You can also be hired by private companies specializing in tree care. 

There are many ways to become an arborist. For instance, you can get a degree in arboriculture, forestry or other relevant courses. Also, you’ll likely get more opportunities if you pass the certification exam of the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA). Some employers prefer to hire tree surgeons who are ISA certified. 

You don’t necessarily have to possess a degree to be an arborist. However, you would need to take City & Guilds NPTC courses and get sufficient hands-on experience. 

 Forest Manager
